Buff Enjoyers dominate Leviathan and win the Deadchaps Gauntlet

With the R1 Tourney 03 postponed due to technical issues, the European Deadlock scene gathered for July's most important event: the Deadchaps Gauntlet

Spanning three days, the tournament showcased Buff Enjoyers' lead over the rest of the scene to the entire world, highlighting the former Virtus.Pro roster's absolute dominance

The event kicked off the previous day with Open Qualifiers won by Slice n Dice who also marked the return of Fearless Furries though the journey proved difficult for both teams, as they were ultimately eliminated in Round 2 of the Lower Bracket

Another key storyline of the Deadchaps Gauntlet involved the struggles faced by Abrahams; already challenged by Buff Enjoyers the previous week during the Night Shift, they were caught off guard twice by Leviathan, first in the Upper Bracket Semifinals (a decisive 2-0 loss) and then in the Lower Bracket Final (a narrow 2-1 defeat)

Despite a clear-cut loss in the final, Leviathan may well have regrets, as they were the only team to occasionally go toe-to-toe with Buff Enjoyers; ultimately, however, an overly cautious and timid playstyle proved to be their undoing on several occasions

The tournament was also defined by Zerggy's commanding performance, as he deservedly secured his thirteenth MVP award, while Empty Dreams saw his efforts rewarded with his sixth EVP honor
