Buff Enjoyers and Melee Creeps win Night Shift 49

Another week of Deadlock saw the return of the Night Shift for its 49th edition, kicking off in Europe with yet another victory for Buff Enjoyers over Abrahams

The event began with a qualifier between Leviathan and Silence, where Leviathan emerged victorious with a 2-0 win; however, Leviathan was left with plenty of regrets following their Challenger match against Buff Enjoyers, having squandered a lead of nearly 25k souls before ultimately losing just 12 minutes later

It was yet another final showdown between Buff Enjoyers and Abrahams, the latter having officially finalized their roster the day before by permanently adding Sharyk though this time, Sharyk was unable to make a significant impact on the match posting an average DTV rating of 0.57

In a scenario mirroring the earlier match between Leviathan and Buff Enjoyers, Abrahams looked poised to win the first game until a perfectly executed team fight by Buff Enjoyers sealed the outcome, overcoming their deficit in souls

The second game played out very differently, however; there was a clear gap in class between the two teams from start to finish, a powerful response from Buff Enjoyers following the crushing defeat they had suffered just a week prior

With this latest win, Buff Enjoyers secured their 18th Night Shift title, while Zerggy claimed his twelfth DTV MVP award and Vraic his third DTV EVP honor.

Later that night, the Deadlock scene reconvened for the North American edition, featuring a new team in the Challenger match: Pulsar

After benching their South Korean roster several months ago, Pulsar returned to the Deadlock scene by forming a new squad with players such as Hydration, Scout, and aidanthedestroyer

Their opening match against the revamped Melee Creeps, who were coming off a very promising Night Shift performance the previous week was anything but easy with a crushing victory for Melee Creeps in under 30 minutes

This set up yet another final between Poppers Puppils and Melee Creeps, a matchup shaping up to be the new North American classic. It began with a one-sided opening map, mirroring the Challenger match, as Poppers Puppils secured a clean, decisive win

The overall series was likely decided during the second map, which was a tight contest from start to finish; ultimately, a late snowball effect dashed Poppers Puppils' hopes, aided significantly by birdee’s McGinnis excellent performance

The final map was completely one-sided as Melee Creeps dominated, perhaps even more forcefully than in the European match driven by an unstoppable Saiah with Abrams

With this victory, Melee Creeps claimed their 28th Night Shift title, while Saiah secured his fifth DTV MVP award and Zeno his second DTV EVP honor.
